Welcome to LDS

A small initiative taken by few young souls with the sole motive to put a smile on the faces who are looked down upon by the society.

In 2013, three friends on an early morning witnessed three poor kids fighting over a piece of cloth which opened their eyes to do something for them, which gave the birth to this organization. Over the years things started falling into place and eventually we stand close to 40+ members who served the poor at various instances over the years and promises to do so for the time to come.

'Let's Do Something' is this small initiative taken up by these young souls to comfort people who deserves to be considered as a significant part of this world. Feel free to join us if you really want to help the poor where there is no inclusion of politics and just a group of like-minded people with the sole motive to help the poor with every little contribution that they can provide.

What we do

We ensure that underprivileged people have access to full-course meal at least once a year.

Annual food day

Annual clothes distribution

An initiative to bring smiles to the less-fortunate children and elderly people during the biggest festival of Bengal.

Annual blanket distribution

Every year, we make an effort to shield homeless people from winter chills.

Accessories to rickshaw-pullers

We distributed specialized umbrella-hats to protect rickshaw pullers from scorching heat.

Ration during lockdown

During lockdown due to covid-19, people who are on daily wages are most vilified. We attempted to provide food items to those who needed.

Supporting underprivileged families toward self-dependence

With our limited resources, we sincerely tried to support a vulnerable families toward self-dependence.

Relief support after natural disaster

We provided food items to the people whose homes were wrecked by the two cyclones Amphan and Yaas. We also helped them repair their houses.

Covid-19 helpdesk

During the second wave of lockdown, we are offering a helping hand to find verified sources of oxygen cylinders, hospital beds and other medical supports.

Monthly provision for stray dogs

We provide food items and necessary medical support to about 200+ stray dogs in our locality at least once a month.

Career counseling

A new initiative to help students from 10th standard up to masters' level take informed decision about their potential career paths.

Support for medical emergencies

Medical emergencies don't wait for one's preparedness. LDS, with its limited resources is always there to stand by during dire times

Clothes bank

Lots of people are there who do not even have access to proper dresses to cover themselves. On the other hand there are lots of decent dresses with many, which are reusable. So, to bridge the gap, Team LDS has decided to collect all reusable dresses and provide it to friends in need.
